Note: The March 2008 dues renewal was the last time TI provided a ten-day grace period (until April 10) for clubs to submit their dues and still receive Distinguished Club Program credit. In keeping with the Toastmasters practice of starting and ending things on time, TI has eliminated the grace period for renewals effective June 30, 2008. September 2008 dues must be submitted by September 30, 2008 and March 2009 dues will need to be submitted by March 31, 2009 in order to receive DCP credit.

Club Presidents: It's time for proxies; Please sign and return

envelope

Toastmasters International has sent out the required proxies necessary to conduct business at the Regional Conference June 6-7 and the International Convention in August 2008. The proxies allow the District Govornor or other District officers in attendance to cast votes on the clubs behalf. Please check your mail (club presidents) for a blue envelope and sign and mail both proxies to District Governor Kevin Doyle. Several proxies are already in, and getting them in will save a lot of effort to track them down. Governance Update for Toastmasters International™

Shaping the Future

On February 16, the Board of Directors of Toastmasters International voted to defer a vote by the full membership until the 2009 International Convention. TI is currently considering a significant reshaping of the governance of Toastmasters at the International, Regional and District levels. The changes include a more balanced representation of the world membership, a new region structure, and improvements to the district structure to ensure the Toastmasters program is efficiently delivered to the members. You can find out more about the latest version of the proposal by clicking here. You can find the minutes of the Feb 16 TI Board meeting, including what next steps will be taken by clicking here.
